Well hey there, world.

on Sunday, May 17, 2009

I dont know where I would be now
if I didn't have you.
You are the rock to which I am clinging,
(how can I keep from singing?)
Ten years, baby,
and here's to ten more.
Even though I've not yet reached four.

Who would have thunk three years ago that a day like this would make me cry like a baby? My eyes were watering the entire afternoon, because I was so happy, and so sad, and all these emotions twisted together into a weird, numb, content feeling of love and admiration for everyone there. I dont have a clue what I will do when I'm not in the valley anymore...

Goodbye.

There are trillions of ways to say goodbye to someone:
Temporary goodbyes, forever goodbyes,
Happy, sad, angry, emotional,
Awkward goodbyes -
They leave a sour taste in your mouth.
Goodbyes that help to build the bridges of friendship,
Or destroy the bridges you have worked so hard to build.
Witnessing the frazzled faces of a fond farewell,
Their expressions betraying the emotion they try to hard to keep hidden.
Tears run from their eyes,
Because those tears can't face the sadness; they need to escape.
Laughter shakes mountains,
Their joy and pride not wanting to be held back.
Some say goodbye with grins; some with anger;
Some with a distance that they think will help them cut the ropes that keep them together
Before they snap.
Some people write it on paper in the shape of a poem,
Letting their words linger,
Foot steps on warm sand.
These are my foot steps; this is my goodbye.
